Need a User Manual Someone???

Anyone in need of a user manual for an electronics equipment etc?

Well do not fret about the house looking for that old paperback that probably went in the trash the day you got it. Just go and check out General Manual's website.

Although I have the paperback for my Yamaha PSR-E213 Entry-level Portable Digital Keyboard, sometimes going to the manufacturers website can take quite a while before finding what one needs. This website has a plethora of user manuals for everyone in adobe format. So hopefully, what you are in need of to tell you exactly what that little orange button precisely does is a few clicks away.

Hictu_polarbear_video_case

Hictu_polarbear_video_case, originally uploaded by polarbear58.

My video I posted on Hictu.com using Hictu's own video recording format was showcased on the top videos. Cool. ^^ Not a big thing, but its nice to know that the code is working and picking up random videos to show case. (I mean c'mon if it picks up my video to showcase to all Hictuans it has to be random, right @muzedon?) LOL.

For all twitterers who may like Hictu but do not want to twitter I have news for you. You do not have to. Hictu is setup so that you can stay in touch with all your twitter friends as what you post on Hictu can be sent to your twitter page. One tip do not do as i did, keep your Hictu ID the same as your twitter id so that the @ messages can transfer. Plus it iwll be easier for your friends to identify you if you do not use your own picture as your avatar.

Widgetbox

So I was looking into a method that I can use Web 2.0 widget into my blog so that my sidebars did not look like outdated kiddie script doodle margins. I found a great website widget repository that contains widgets for all of your needs. The site is www.widgetbox.com, their About Us page says:

Since way back in 2006, Widgetbox has pioneered the rise of widgets. We connect widget creators, consumers, and advertisers by providing choice to those who want it and reach to those who need it. By leveraging our massive widget exchange, and understanding the desire for users to have online freedom, Widgetbox is accelerating the Internet revolution through unlimited access to and easy use of web widgets.
I created my user account in order to keep track of the widget I am using and be able to update them by editing the color, width, what ever rocks you. Currently i am using the following widget on my blog's sidebars:
On a side note I use Hictu, MyBlogLog, Technorati Search (found at the bottom of my page), and Bighugelabs Flickr profile (found on the top of my page) widgets.

There are a plethora of widget to use and I feel a website like this that brings in the help of internet users who also want to share their widgets is only going to become big and well known. So have fun and find your web 2.0 widget.

Twitter Spam Accounts

I have been starting to receive a few emails from stating that twitter_username_number is following me. When I take a look at the users twitter home page I see at the most 5 tweets and a bazillion twitter users following this spammer account. Why? yes, why would you follow someone without checking that person out. It could be a spammer, or an internet stalker.

Jason Clarke from downloadsquad.com wrote it best:

There is a large number of very misguided people that seem to believe that the polite thing to do when someone follows you on Twitter is to follow them back. This is a ludicrous behavior.

I really believe in being polite, but not to my inconvenience. Let's all sit back and research who is following us before we also follow them and become inundated with spam tweets and emails.

For his article click here: Twitter Twerp Scan - block Twitter spammers

His article he writes has a wonderful description of Twitter Twerp Scan along with a link on how you can find out who may be a Twitter Spam Account that you may be misleadingly following.

Yahoo Buys MyBlogLog

MyBlogLog bought by Yahoo.

Yahoo Buys MyBlogLog

Update: Yahoo’s PR team got in touch with Mashable to say that while the Bix.com acquisition is confirmed, the MyBlogLog deal is by no means complete. It seems there have been some preliminary discussions, but no acquisition from Yahoo.

Yahoo is on an acquisition spree: having just announced the purchase of Bix.com, it’s being reported that they’re also buying MyBlogLog, the service that lets you track your blog visitors. Valleywag reports that the price is $10M. They’ve also snapped up the Swedish mobile company Kenet Works - that deal was made a few months ago, they say, but it’s only just been confirmed.

MyBlogLog
has been covered in the past on Mashable, and essentially it allows blog owners to track their readers, and for readers to form ad hoc communities around blogs. Bloggers can put a widget in their sidebar that detects when a MyBlogLog member has visited - it then displays their photo and a link back to their MyBlogLog profile. Blogs also have pages on the site, along with a list of fans. Judging by the massive number of “friend adds” I seem to get (even though I don’t really use the service), it’s proving popular with blog readers. It does, however, raise some privacy concerns: do you want to be tracked whenever you visit a blog?

It’s certainly an interesting idea, however, and it’s arguably one of the first services to form a social network based around your implicit actions. Sites like Trakzor are trying a similar thing for social networks, particularly MySpace, although they run the risk of being blocked by those sites. Apparently Toby Coppel and other Yahoo executives saw MyBlogLog at the Web 2.0 Summit recently, and liked it enough to arrange a deal at the weekend.
